Go practise your touch typing during this December school vacation:

Mastering touch typing will do you well in future!  You can type your project reports in a fraction of the time your friends (who do not know touch typing) would take.  This would give you an added advantage to complete your work earlier than your peers!

Furthermore, when you have to type minutes of meeting (aka meeting notes) you could also do it with no sweat!

So go and master your touch typing, and compete with me.  If you can beat my score, I'll give you a little token :)

In any case, have a restful vacation and spend quality time with your family.

Many of you may be aware of this difference, but it is
worth sharing for any that are not.....

The main difference between http:// and https:// is all
about keeping you secure

HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol
The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure".. If you visit a
Website or web page, and look at the address in the web browser, it is likely begin with the following: http:///.

This means that the website is talking to your browser using
the regular unsecured language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the Website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.

This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an
Http website! But if the web address begins with https://, that
means your computer is talking to the website in a
Secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.
You understand why this is so important, right?

If a website ever asks you to enter your Credit/Debit card
Information, you should automatically look to see if the web
address begins with https://.

If it doesn't, You should NEVER enter sensitive
Information....such as a credit/debit card number.

PASS IT ON (You may save someone a lot of grief).

World Robot Games Singapore 2017 which will be held in June 2017.



Introduction to World Robot Games

The World Robot Games is an International Robotics Games Event which takes
place at different country locations annually. Every year, there will be a
different theme which focuses on implementing robotic technologies in real
life to improve the lives of mankind. Participants, Observers, Teachers,
Coaches, Parents gather together in this 2 day event to compete, exchange
knowledge, learn and interact with each other with one common goal in
mind, that is to make our world a better and safer place for everyone with
the help of robotics.



The World Robot Games promotes great opportunities for technological
creativity as participants are not restricted to their usage of parts for
the robots. Each of the games are designed to focus on a certain area of
robotics & education.

In addition, The World Robot Games is the first of its kind to have family
based robot games where families team up and compete with each other, in
the effort of encouraging teamwork, bonding and cohesiveness within the
family.

The World Robot games 2015 had close to 200 international participants and
in 2016 we had close to 350 participants. We are expecting many more for
2017.

The next International World Robot Games 2017 will be held in Singapore
and we expect close to 500 international participants coming from
Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and more.. The
Theme for World Robot Games 2017 is ROBOTS IN DEFENSE & SECURITY. Teams
are challenged not only against each other in our games but also to
innovate and create robots to assist in our global defense & security
against terrorism.

The World Robot Games Singapore 2017 will be held in June 2017. We have 4
Different games, which includes, BATTLEBALLZ, SUMOBOT, LINE TRACING, and
SEARCH & RESCUE, and its open to everyone to participate. Winning Teams of
 World Robot Games ( Singapore OPEN ) will get to represent Singapore to
compete in the prestigous World Robot Games ( International ) in November
2017.




- SUMO ROBOT competition  ( Autonomous and Remote Control , focuses on
programming, mechanical and electronic skills )

- Line Tracing competition ( Non programmable , entry level robotics,
focuses on mechanical and electronic skills )

- Search & Rescue Robot ( Remote Control, focuses on situation analysis,

- Battle-Ballz ( Remote Control, focuses on strategic planning, mechanical
