2015 CODE 4 FUN Competition for Primary Schools

(Disclaimer: This post had been cut-and-pasted verbatim from the email from the Principal of Springfield Secondary School, Mrs Jenny-Ng Loong, dtd 29 Apr 2015)

Springfield Secondary School is proud to be the organizer for the inaugural Code 4 Fun Competition. The competition, supported by MOE Curriculum Planning and Development Division, seeks to promote an interest and develop talent in computing.

The Code 4 Fun Competition will be held on 10 July 2015 from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm at Springfield Secondary School. We will like to invite your Upper Primary students to participate in this competition.

Prior to the competition, a compulsory briefing will be held for all participants and teachers-in-charge, on 28 May 2015 at 3.00 pm in Springfield Secondary School. During the briefing, participants will be issued with flash drives which will be used for submission of completed works for the competition. Tips and training videos on the use of simple logical reasoning and animation using Scratch, a programming language developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), will also be introduced to the students during the session.

Each School can send up to 2 teams (comprising of 2 - 4 students per team) to participate in the Code 4 Fun competition.

The deadline for registration is on 15 May 2015. Limited slots are available and more details can be found at http://www.springfieldsec.moe.edu.sg. Schools can register their interest online through the following link, http://tinyurl.com/k8bkn8s.  Please contact the HOD/ICT, Mr Azhar Md Noh, at azhar_b_mohammed_noh@moe.edu.sg should you have any queries or refer to the attached poster which you can use to promote the event in your school.

We look forward to your support for this competition.
